Business Description:

The great name of Valbona, currently includes about 37 houses with just 300 inhabitants. The village is set in a semi-steep slope, on the banks of the river of the same name, between Mount Kollata, the mountain opposite Jezerca and Pecmar, at an altitude of 810 meters above sea level. The so-known village has its roots in the Albanian village of Vuthaj, which is today in Montenegro. Elder 78, Muhamet Selimi, shows that the roots of the village are at least 400 years old. At that time, in this gorge there were summer dwellings for livestock the inhabitants of this village. A grandson (of the girl) who had remained an orphan at the age of four months after she grew up and got married wanted to stay at least rented in the verdict even during the winter. Why so? Because, according to the Kanun (to this day) grandson (daughter, daughter of the village) has no share in the village, because there can only be a grandson in the male line. But while staying there for a few years, the nephew gave birth to children, they grew up and married, as much as this family was multiplied, her followers refused to leave, the problem went to court. The grandson who had been left in the village to live in the house, to guard them, had died. Judges of the time to solve the problem sought to go to Valbona and according to the laws of the time if the house chimneys smoke, the land belonged to them. By contrast, he belonged to Vuthaj. In court (it is not known who taught Valbonaceans (more precisely the predecessors of today’s Selimaj tribe), but when the judges went to see that every house was smoking, it forced them to give the verdict that the land belonged to them. 300 years ago, so the village of Valbona was born.
